St Anthony of Padua

Hammer of heretics, finder of all that's lost.
Patron of Lost things, the poor · 1195–1231

Life

A Portuguese Franciscan with a memory so prodigious he was said to have memorised most of Scripture. His preaching converted hardened heretics in southern France and Italy. His incorrupt tongue rests in the basilica at Padua.

Prayer

St Anthony, pray that what we have lost — our keys, our peace, our faith — may yet be found.
