Life
Born in Roman North Africa, Augustine spent his youth chasing pleasure and Manichean heresy. Converted under the prayers of his mother St Monica and the preaching of St Ambrose, he became Bishop of Hippo and produced the Confessions and City of God.

St Augustine, restless heart who found rest in God, pray that our wandering may end where yours did — at the foot of the Cross.
