St Mary, Mother of God

Life

Mary of Nazareth, conceived without sin, gave her fiat to the angel Gabriel and bore the Son of God into the world. Her assent at the Annunciation reverses the disobedience of Eve; her sorrow at the Cross unites her to every grief; her assumption into heaven is the firstfruits of the resurrection promised to all the faithful.

Prayer

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
