Life
On this day at Bethlehem the eternal Word, born of the Father before all ages, was born of the Virgin Mary. The infinite became contained, the immortal became mortal, the all-powerful became dependent — all so that we might be lifted up.

Lord Jesus, born for us in poverty, be born today in every cold and lonely heart.
